Ring has introduced a new security camera — Always Home Cam (“a camera that is always at home”). This is a small drone that flies around the user’s home and can also fly outside of it to remotely show what is happening around it. The user controls it using the application. This device can be a replacement for standard security cameras.
With Always Home Cam, the user can see every corner of their home in real time without having to move. In addition, the device can be taught to fly around the house according to the map on which the device is trained. After completing its flight, the drone returns to its docking station to charge. Ring will start selling the camera at the end of 2020, it will cost $259.
The company explained that the main idea of the drone is to provide many different viewing angles at home without the need to purchase dozens of cameras.
When installing the Always Home Cam drone for the first time, the user will need to download the Ring app, which can map the home and its surroundings. You can set a schedule for visiting individual rooms or flying outside the house. Or it can be controlled manually directly from the app.
The drone only records video while in flight, so it will not secretly monitor the user. You can set up a drone to fly around your home while you’re away. In the event of a home invasion, an alarm will sound and a drone will fly to the location of the break-in to scare the thief.
