GoPro announces open API

GoPro has announced the launch of the “Open GoPro” initiative, an open API that allows third-party developers to integrate the HERO9 Black action camera into their own projects. This allows them to access features such as wireless connection, camera control, camera status control, live footage preview, saved photo/video viewing and memory card transfer. GoPro Hero9 Black camera firmware must be updated to version 1.6 in order to access the public API.

Orqa became a key partner

The well-known Croatian hobby company Orqa has become a key partner in opening the integration. Now their top creation FPV goggles “Orqa FPV.One” support interaction with the GoPro Hero9 Black action camera. To do this, Orqa engineers have specially developed a software tool that allows you to directly connect to the action camera and interact with it directly through the interface of the FPV goggles. So, for example, the pilot will be able to check the battery status of the camera, the capacity of the memory card, change the video recording parameters. To activate this option, you need to update the firmware of the FPV goggles to version 2.8.0.
