FireDrone – Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Extreme Temperature Environments

So i’m david hoizerman i’m working at the empire robotics center today we have been testing our drone for extreme temperature environments here at the firefighter training facility in andelfingen and.

Instead of always testing it at the in an oven at empire in a laboratory environment we could fly today in a real world fire scenario and behind me you can see the drone it survived more than four test flights today so we’re very.

Happy with that and we could gather a lot of data to be analyzed in after this test the main challenge for this drone is the electronics as well as the batteries are not suited for extreme temperature applications so we solve this challenge with using.

Polymate aerogel insulation hull around the electronics compartment so in here is the electronics and we have this shell around it and with this solution we can fly in high temperatures but also in very cold temperatures.
