HD equipment

The devel­op­er also offers an HD kit “Alpha A75 HD Whoop w/Polar Nano Vista Dig­i­tal HD Sys­tem BNF”, which essen­tial­ly includes only one quadric. This is because the FPV sys­tem for the HD ver­sion is the top-end dig­i­tal FPV sys­tem “Cad­dx Neb­u­la Nano Kit Vista HD Dig­i­tal Sys­tem” by default, which means that you already have a DJI con­troller and DJI FPV gog­gles with which it is com­pat­i­ble. From which it fol­lows that the HD set, tak­ing into account sep­a­rate­ly pur­chased com­po­nents, is much more expen­sive than the ana­log set, but it’s all worth it.

The first argu­ment is the qual­i­ty of the video link broad­cast at a res­o­lu­tion of 1280 × 720 at 60 fps (ana­logue sys­tem max: 800 × 480p), the sec­ond — for starters, it is worth not­ing the process of pair­ing the com­po­nents of a dig­i­tal sys­tem — it is auto­mat­ic. Fur­ther more! Con­sid­er­ing the fact that today all FPV drones with­out excep­tion are equipped with a dig­i­tal FPV sys­tem, then in the future you will also just have to buy only one quad, since you already have every­thing else. In oth­er words, such a pur­chase for the future.

As for the minus­es, the only nuance of the dig­i­tal sys­tem, so far, is the delay time of no more than 40 ms (ana­log: there is no delay). In fact, this is extreme­ly small and imper­cep­ti­ble to the human brain, but nev­er­the­less it exists — while it exists, after all, we all remem­ber that the tech­no­log­i­cal process does not stand still!

Charger

To charge the bat­tery using the includ­ed charg­er, do the fol­low­ing:

  1. Con­nect the bat­tery to the appro­pri­ate ports on the charg­er.
  2. Plug in the pow­er cord and wait for the device to boot up.
  3. Press and hold the “TYPE/CURR” but­ton for 2 sec­onds to select the bat­tery type (LiPo, LiHV, LiFe; 1–4S).
  4. Press the but­ton once to select the charg­ing cur­rent.
  5. If all set­tings are cor­rect, the charg­er will auto­mat­i­cal­ly start charg­ing the con­nect­ed bat­tery.
  6. Each time you turn on the charg­er, you need to press the but­ton once to unlock the device before it starts charg­ing auto­mat­i­cal­ly.

• The devel­op­er notes that the pow­er poten­tial of the bun­dled charg­er is lim­it­ed and allows you to charge LiPo bat­ter­ies no more pow­er­ful than 4S 350 mAh ~ 850 mAh. To charge more effi­cient bat­ter­ies, it is rec­om­mend­ed to use a charg­er — ISDT Q6 Nano.

How to disable Angle-Mode and enable Acro-Mode?

All you have to do is down­load the Betaflight con­fig­u­ra­tor to your com­put­er (Win­dows or Mac), make sure all dri­vers are prop­er­ly installed (a tuto­r­i­al is on the con­fig­u­ra­tor home page), con­nect your drone’s flight con­troller to your com­put­er, and select the Modes/ Modes” (see screen­shot below).

Next, you can dis­able ANGLE mode com­plete­ly (right-click the “x”) or drag the vir­tu­al slid­er to where you want to acti­vate the AUX switch on your con­trol equip­ment. Don’t for­get to set the cor­rect AUX input as well and test it with­out props!

Firmware update

The devel­op­er strong­ly rec­om­mends down­load­ing the soft­ware only from their GoogleDrive source, where you will also find the cor­rect ver­sion of the Betaflight tar­get soft­ware adapt­ed for each drone series released, which will also be rel­e­vant for down­load­ing and restor­ing the fac­to­ry set­tings of your iFlight BNF drone.

To update the Betaflight firmware, down­load the lat­est Betaflight con­fig­u­ra­tor and flash with the cor­rect Betaflight tar­get. Always use Betaflight tar­get fac­to­ry soft­ware (must have IFLIGHT_ in the name) that comes with user defaults to restore I/O set­tings. You can check the cur­rent ver­sion of Betaflight in the con­fig­u­ra­tor in the Betaflight Con­fig­u­ra­tor sta­tus win­dow or in the com­mand line inter­face.

How to determine the version of your hardware?

If your BNF drone or Flight Con­troller still has fac­to­ry firmware installed, you can also enter the cor­rect Betaflight tar­get in the top left cor­ner of the Betaflight log. In the exam­ple below, the cor­rect tar­get for this par­tic­u­lar flight con­troller would be “IFRC/IFLIGHT_F745_AIO” and can be updat­ed under the “Update Firmware” tab.

Important!

Please make sure you are run­ning the same ver­sion of Betaflight before apply­ing a fac­to­ry dump. Oth­er­wise, update Betaflight to the lat­est ver­sion and change the nec­es­sary set­tings! It is not rec­om­mend­ed to paste old dumps into new ver­sions of Betaflight!

Restoring factory settings

Before per­form­ing a fac­to­ry reset using an iFlight fac­to­ry dump, make sure you have updat­ed or flashed your Betaflight soft­ware. This prompt will auto­mat­i­cal­ly appear after a suc­cess­ful flash and sub­se­quent reboot of your flight con­troller. If it did­n’t, then some­thing went wrong!

  • Step 1:

    Copy the con­tents of *.txt file (GoogleDrive link above)

  • Step 2:

    Open the Betaflight con­fig­u­ra­tor and go to the com­mand line inter­face (at the bot­tom of the left col­umn menu).

  • Step 3:

    Paste into the CLI (com­mand line) and press the Enter key.

  • Step 4:

    Type “save” and press the Enter key to save your set­tings! Fac­to­ry set­tings restored!

  • Step 5:

    To recal­i­brate the gyro­scope in the Betaflight con­fig­u­ra­tor, go to the Set­tings tab.

  • Step 6:

    Set the drone as lev­el as you can and press the “Cal­i­brate” but­ton.
