We continue to get acquainted with the products from the manufacturer MJX R/C Technic. This time we will talk about the no less famous model – X600. This drone has undergone a number of significant changes. It has increased in size when compared with its “brother” – MJX X800, and it was on this model that the “Return to equipment” function was first used without reference to GPS, which in general significantly affected the final price tag.

The developers introduced this mode exclusively for beginners. It disables the orientation of the drone in space. When activated, the MJX X600 does not care which side it is to the pilot, thereby making it easier for the user to get to know the UAV for the first time.
For example, when launching the X600, it is always set back to the pilot and when it takes off, if you move the stick to the left, the drone will fly to the left, if you move the stick to the right, it will fly to the right. But, as soon as the X600 turns around its axis by 360º, then everything changes places for the pilot. So, the “Headless mode” disables these orientation troubles and the movement of the hexacopter will completely depend on where you move the control stick.
In the future, it will be better to abandon the use of the Headless mode and practice orientation flights, since in advanced UAV models from a more expensive segment, to which the user will come sooner or later, the presence of a headless mode is excluded.
Return to hardware
ONE KEY RETURN – This feature is only active in Headless mode. If the pilot for some reason lost sight of his drone, then you should not worry too much. By pressing the button on the remote control under the left index finger, the hex will obediently return back to the equipment. The pilot participates only in altitude control, since the collision of the hexacopter with obstacles is not excluded. In order to disable this function, you need to move the right stick to one of the sides and then the drone will go into manual control.
If the MJX X600 flies too far and loses the signal, then the fall will not occur. In this case, it will make an automatic soft landing at the place where the signal was lost. (it is worth considering the direction of the wind, because if it sits down, then not vertically down, but taking into account its direction).
This function is active at maximum flow rates (PRO). Enables the X600 to master flips.
The MJX X600 hexacopter is equipped with brushed motors with gear transmission. In the “PRO” mode, the potential is more than enough. Ready to carry a good HD camera (Mobius MINI or Firefly Q6) on board without noticeable loss in handling.
The drive shafts do not sit on bearings, but on bushings, this fact significantly reduces the resource of the motors themselves. At the same time aboutNote that a soldering iron is not required to replace the motors. Let’s take this as a plus.
To date, MJX X600 is officially equipped with two types of C4016 / C4018 cameras. The quality of shooting in both is below average. In addition to video recording and photos, they broadcast a video stream via Wi-Fi to a smartphone (IOS / Android) paired with the camera.
The MJX X600 hexacopter is equipped with two 700mAh JST-connected lithium polymer batteries. With a mixed style of piloting, it provides a flight time of 7-8 minutes. It is charged from the included charger, the charging time is on average 1.5 hours.
The MJX X600 hexacopter comes with the classic 4-channel control equipment GR-246, operating at a frequency of 2.4GHz. In a zone free from interference, it ensures the removal of the drone at a distance of up to 100 meters. In the metropolis, this distance is no further than 60 meters. Power is supplied by four 1.5V AA batteries.
Pleasantly surprised by the capabilities of the remote control. For example, you can easily swap the assignment of the left and right sticks using the “Throttle changing button” switches. The “Throttle limit botton” regulator allows you to set the amplitude of the throttle stick as a percentage. Rotate counterclockwise to decrease, rotate clockwise to increase. By setting for example the amplitude to 50% the motors will develop only half of their potential.

In the test, the MJX X600 showed good results typical of a budget hexacopter. Dynamic, wind-resistant, stable, the flawless operation of the 6-axis gyroscope affects. Headless mode, the function of returning to the transmitter from the button, as well as hex flips worked without any complaints.

Inexpensive, build quality deserves respect. Adapted for running outdoors and at home. We note the good carrying capacity of the hexacopter, which allows you to additionally hang a good HD camera. Modes “Middle” and “PRO” are different from each other, beginners will appreciate it. In the “Middle” mode, the hex is perfectly controlled, so the first flight is better to start with it. The “PRO” mode completely changes the behavior of the drone, it becomes a “sports car” and is not at all afraid of gusts of wind. It is recommended as the first UAV for obtaining primary skills in piloting.
