On February 21, 2019, DJI Innovations announced the second generation of Matrice 200 series drones.
Introduction
The professional Matrice 200 was unveiled by DJI Innovations at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2017. The drone is designed to perform professional tasks, such as inspection of energy facilities (power lines, wind turbines, oil platforms), checking the critical condition of infrastructure (bridges, telecommunications towers), public safety (search and rescue, fire hazard monitoring).
Drone DJI Matrice 200 received the following dimensions: 71.6 × 22 × 23.6 cm, with a weight of only 3.80 kg.
The lineup
Matrice 200 is offered in three series:
- M200 — with the possibility of hanging one camera from the bottom of the drone
- M210 – with the possibility of hanging up to 2 cameras from below and one from above
- M210 RTK — RTK (Real Time Kinematics) modules are added, which significantly improve the positioning of the drone with an accuracy of one centimeter.
Appearance
Foldable design and protection
The M200 is foldable for ease of transport and is IP43 ingress protected (protected against external solid objects up to 1mm in diameter and against water in the form of rain where spray falls vertically or at an angle up to 60° to the vertical).
Sensors
The drone is equipped with more than 20 sensors, some of which duplicate each other in order to increase the reliability and stability of the drone. Equipped with optical vision systems on the front and sides of the drone, as well as on top, in the form of an infrared sensor to facilitate flights under bridges or complex structures.
Food
I got two batteries working in series and providing a flight duration of up to 38 minutes depending on the payload and battery type (6S 4280mAh and optional 7760mAh LiPo will be offered).
cameras
On the front of the drone is a heading FPV camera (as on the Inspire 2), which allows you to separate the duties of the operator and pilot. For shooting, the M200 is equipped with well-known cameras: the Zenmuse X4S and X5S, the Zenmuse XT2 thermal camera developed by FLIR, and the Zenmuse Z30 camera with a 30x optical zoom.
Additional features
- All series received the DJI AirSense function, which works on ADS‑B type transceivers. This transponder signal receiving system provides real-time information exchange (current position, airspeed, altitude, etc.) with both air traffic control systems and other aircraft.
- The M200 is compatible with the DJI GO 4/DJI Pilot/DJI GS GO apps. DJI Pilot, in turn, can work with DJI FlightHub (data exchange function via cloud technologies from DJI) — allows real-time sharing (for personnel or control centers, etc.) to various types of information received from UAVs. Allows everyone to see the video feed from the drone’s cameras, where the drone is located, control its status, track the flight direction, make flight corrections and control the cameras on board.
- The video stream from the drone’s cameras is transmitted in real time in FHD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels at a distance of up to 7 km via the Lightbridge 2 video link.
Price
All three DJI Matrice 200 series are available for order on the manufacturer’s website. There are no current prices, since each solution is individual and is prepared based on the preferences of the client.
