Introduction

On Feb­ru­ary 21, DJI Inno­va­tions announced the sec­ond gen­er­a­tion of the 200 series of com­mer­cial UAVs, the Matrice. The DJI Matrice 200 Series V2 is a ver­sa­tile aer­i­al effi­cien­cy plat­form that com­bines rugged con­struc­tion with ease of con­fig­ura­bil­i­ty for a vari­ety of indus­tries. Improve­ments in the M200 V2 series have affect­ed the intel­li­gent con­trol sys­tems, flight per­for­mance, as well as the addi­tion of func­tions to ensure flight safe­ty and data pro­tec­tion.

RTK modules

To increase the absolute accu­ra­cy of the image meta­da­ta, the M210 RTK V2 inte­grates RTK mod­ules that pro­vide real-time cen­time­ter accu­ra­cy in the posi­tion­ing of the received data.

With­out RTK mod­ules, the UAV requires up to 40 ground con­trol points (GCP) per square kilo­me­ter, which in prac­tice is time con­sum­ing. The Matrice 210 RTK V2 has a built-in cen­time­ter-pre­ci­sion RTK posi­tion­ing sys­tem paired with a high per­for­mance imag­ing sys­tem. Tan­dem poten­tial­ly reduces the num­ber of break­points required for “0”, sav­ing at least 75% of instal­la­tion time.

External GPS module

Improves posi­tion­ing accu­ra­cy, espe­cial­ly when using top gim­bals on the M210 V2 or when con­nect­ing on-board devices or pay­loads.

Mobile station D‑RTK 2

The Matrice 210 RTK V2 is ful­ly com­pat­i­ble with the D‑RTK 2 mobile sta­tion, respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing the drone with real-time dif­fer­en­tial data and gen­er­at­ing an accu­rate geo­det­ic solu­tion. D‑RTK 2’s rugged design, IP67 rat­ing, cou­pled with the Ocu­Sync 2.0 video trans­mis­sion sys­tem, ensures users receive cen­time­ter-accu­rate data even in dif­fi­cult envi­ron­ments.

The PM210 RTK V2 can eas­i­ly be inte­grat­ed into any work­flow by con­nect­ing the posi­tion­ing sys­tem to a D‑RTK 2 mobile sta­tion via a 4G don­gle or Wi-Fi hotspot using the NTRIP pro­to­col (Dif­fer­en­tial GPS Data Stream­ing over the Inter­net), or you can save all received data for Post Pro­cess­ing Kine­mat­ic post-pro­cess­ing (PPK).

TimeSync

Time­Sync is an accu­rate data acqui­si­tion sys­tem that ensures con­tin­u­ous align­ment of the flight con­troller, cam­era and RTK mod­ules. In addi­tion, Time­Sync ensures that each pho­to uses the most accu­rate meta­da­ta and cap­tures it in the APS‑C cen­ter, which in turn opti­mizes the results using pho­togram­met­ric meth­ods, allow­ing the image to match cen­time­ter-lev­el posi­tion­ing data.

OcuSync 2.0

The sec­ond gen­er­a­tion of Ocu­Sync dig­i­tal video trans­mis­sion tech­nol­o­gy, with the abil­i­ty to switch between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz based on chan­nel con­ges­tion, has improved inter­fer­ence immu­ni­ty, pro­vid­ing an out­put dis­tance of up to 8km, video stream­ing qual­i­ty up to 1080p, down­load speed up to 40Mbps and time delays up to 120ms.

Heading FPV Camera

Allows you to sep­a­rate the duties of the pilot and oper­a­tor. Now the pilot will be able to con­cen­trate on more pre­cise con­trol of the drone, and the oper­a­tor on get­ting the right shots. Video streams do not inter­sect and there­fore do not inter­fere with each oth­er.

DJI Pilot PE

DJI Pilot PE (Pri­vate Edi­tion) is a per­son­al ver­sion of the flight con­trol appli­ca­tion designed specif­i­cal­ly for cor­po­rate users who require high data secu­ri­ty require­ments, which makes it pos­si­ble to max­i­mize the poten­tial of com­mer­cial UAVs laid down by the man­u­fac­tur­er. By default, DJI Pilot PE will not trans­mit any data to pub­lic net­works and will only con­nect direct­ly to the FlightHub Enter­prise host­ed on the user’s pri­vate IT infra­struc­ture.

DJI FlightHub

DJI FlightHub is a web hub for con­sis­tent man­age­ment of the DJI drone fleet. Allows the oper­a­tor to receive live teleme­try from each drone involved in the mis­sion, view in real time up to four video streams simul­ta­ne­ous­ly, coor­di­nate and man­age the entire work­flow online. The ser­vice is acces­si­ble through a web brows­er. In addi­tion to the exist­ing ver­sions of FlightHub Basic and Advanced, the devel­op­er intro­duced a new ver­sion of the soft­ware — FlightHub Enter­prise.   • Flight Plan­ning — Plan and mon­i­tor unmanned oper­a­tions with the abil­i­ty to send auto­mat­ed way­points or map­ping mis­sions to indi­vid­ual pilots.
