Updates without new features
Recently, the DJI Go 4 app has been updated to version 4.3.42. The upgrade once again does not bring any new features, but only eliminates the identified bugs and improves the stability of the application. An interesting fact is that if we look at the update history of the application, we can notice that the last significant upgrade was in December last year, which added the Local Date Mode, which provides complete data privacy if necessary. Before this upgrade and after, also nothing but general fixes and improvements.
Also note that all the latest DJI drones, such as the DJI Mavic Air 2 and DJI Mavic Mini/Mini 2, now work exclusively with the new DJI Fly app. The DJI Go 4 app now only works with older drones such as the DJI Inspire 2, Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom, Phantom 4 Pro/V2.0, and more.
What is the difference between DJI Go 4 and DJI Fly?
Without going into details, the DJI Go 4 app is powerful and sophisticated software designed primarily for professionals. DJI Fly, on the contrary, is the most simple and intuitive software with a standard set of functions, designed for the average user to quickly interact with the received content and the community.
What could this indicate?
The lack of new features for the DJI Go 4 app is a clear sign that the developer will soon stop using it. What rumors have also pointed to lately. Whether this will be a complete failure or will be replaced by new, more modern software, time will tell.
