Ehang demonstrates flight from the cabin of an air taxi
Ehang is back in the spotlight — today the developer posted on its YT channel the first full-fledged 360-degree video of a demonstration flight directly from the cabin of the Ehang 216 unmanned platform, which will soon become part of public transport in major metropolitan areas around the world.
It is known that the flight was carried out in the vicinity of the Chinese urban district of Hezhou (Hezhou). Regarding the flight, two main negative points can be distinguished. Unfortunately, despite the overall stability of the platform, the fact of noticeable vibration immediately rushes, which is associated with increased noise, which negatively affects the overall quality of the future service. It is possible that by the time of the official launch, the Ehang 216 will receive more effective sound insulation and vibration damping, which, apparently, are not enough to ensure a more comfortable flight. The rest of the flight went as planned, delivering one passenger from point “A” to point “B” in automatic mode, covering a distance of about 13 kilometers in just 6 minutes, which is very significant.
