About the platform
Flying Eye by 360 Designs is the world’s first drone capable of transmitting real-time 6K video up to a distance of 8 kilometers. The broadcast is conducted with a 360-degree view on VR glasses, and has a slight delay — less than 1 second.
Breeze Video Streaming Protocol
To realize these possibilities, 360 Designs had to develop its own video streaming protocol called Breeze. Thanks to this functionality, the Flying Eye drone can broadcast panoramic videos from almost anywhere in the world. You can organize broadcasts to social networks (YouTube, FaceBook) of large-scale events, thereby creating the effect of presence. Thanks to the 360-degree view and VR glasses, you are like a bird hovering over what is happening.
According to gen. director of 360 Designs, they were inspired to create Flying Eye by the desire to make shooting live concerts in VR format accessible so that people would look at what was happening from a different angle. At the same time, one person can control the drone.
The basis of the Flying Eye is the DJI Matrice 600 drone equipped with:
- Camera stabilization system
- Breeze video transmission technology including ground receiving station.
- VR Mini Eye 3 Camera
Transportation
The Flying Eye drone is transported in a waterproof case from Pelican.
Price
The whole kit adds up to a tidy sum, the Flying Eye can be purchased for $75,000. Drones with capabilities like the Flying Eye are the future of television, available today.
