Obstacle detection in all directions includes detection of obstacles to the left/right, top/bottom and front/rear.
Left/Right Obstacle Detection is only available in ActiveTrack or Tripod modes.
Omnidirectional Obstacle Detection does not provide 360 degree coverage.
DJI’s warranty does not cover any damage caused by a fall while flying to the left or right, even when ActiveTrack or Tripod mode is active.
To ensure safety, pay attention to the environment at the launch site and keep an eye on app notifications when using the Mavic 2.
Appearance
hybrid camera
It is a key component included in the main package of improvements for the commercial version of the portable drone. The developer equipped the M2EA with a new even more powerful hybrid camera, built on a tandem of two sensors for realizing simultaneous thermal and high-resolution visual shooting.
Thermal photography
The built-in high-resolution thermal matrix supporting point and volume temperature measurement methods will allow corporate users to quickly determine the current state of objects and make informed decisions based on the data obtained on site. In the arsenal of the thermal chamber: max. resolution: 640 × 512 at 30Hz; temperature measurement accuracy ±2°C; 16x digital zoom.
Visual shooting
The visual camera has received no less powerful potential, allowing you to seriously expand the efficiency of the drone. Unlike its predecessor, it is built on a 48MP 1/2‑inch CMOS matrix. Enables 4K/FHD video recording at 30fps with 32-card digital zoom capability (Lossless zoom: 4x).
The developer notes that 4x lossless zoom is only available for FHD mode.
Imaging modes
To ensure maximum performance, the operator can display the received video image on the main screen of the control equipment in three modes: Thermal / Visual / Thermal + Visual.
RTK module
To achieve the most accurate positioning, the M2EA system can be retrofitted with an RTK module. RTK tandem will allow corporate users to create up to 240 waypoints for autonomous detailed inspections regardless of the complexity of the environment.
The RTK module is not included in the standard payload package and must be purchased separately.
OcuSync 2.0
The second generation of OcuSync digital video transmission technology allows you to switch between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequencies based on the level of channel congestion. Provides more interference-resistant connection, FPV distance up to 10km, video stream quality up to 1080p, download speed 40Mbps and best latency up to 120ms.
DJI Smart Controller
Another equally important innovation that came to the commercial series of Enterprise drones. Portable multifunctional control equipment with a built-in ultra-bright 5.5‑inch 1080p display that provides a clear display of information displayed even in direct sunlight. In addition to the pre-installed DJI Pilot application, it also supports third-party applications for individual tasks. Comes with the standard kit.
Max. flexibility in operation
Lightweight and portable, the M2EA can be launched in less than a minute. To achieve maximum efficiency when performing flight missions, the developer increased the speed of ascent and descent.
Food
The power supply of the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced has remained unchanged from its predecessors. The drone is equipped with an intelligent four-cell (15.4V) lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 3850mAh 59.29Wh. Provides a maximum flight time of 31 minutes (the result was obtained in calm, at a constant horizontal flight speed of 25 km/h). Charging time is approximately 90 minutes.
Heating
Traditionally for a commercial series of drones, the power has received a self-heating function. It can be activated both automatically and manually when the ambient temperature is between ‑10°C and +6°C and the current battery level is above 50%. To activate the self-heating function of the switched off battery, it is necessary to press and hold the battery power button for 5 seconds. If the battery is installed in the drone and turned on, the function will be activated automatically.
Payload
Based on the possible applications of the drone, the developer standardly equips the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced with three payload options:
- M2E Spotlight — double spotlight with a brightness of 2400 lumens. Implemented for missions in low visibility conditions. Spotlight is indispensable in search and rescue, as well as in inspection.
- M2E Speaker — loudspeaker with a maximum sound pressure level of 100dB (at a distance of 1m). Allows the pilot to play voice messages when necessary in order to maintain direct communication with people in the immediate vicinity of the drone. It can work in two modes: 1. Playback of voice messages (up to 10 voice messages) previously recorded using the DJI Pilot mobile application. 2. Transmission of voice messages in real time. Indispensable during rescue operations and emergencies.
- M2E Beacon — Designed to meet US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. The main feature of the Beacon is a bright flashing strobe visible at a distance of 4.8 km. Provides additional airspace awareness for other pilots flying nearby, allowing for safer missions in low light or at night.
The RTK module is not included in the standard payload package and must be purchased separately.
*Mounting place for a payload interfaced with the drone via a micro USB port and two mounting screws.
DJI AirSense
DJI AirSense is a technology that provides an additional level of safety when piloting in crowded airspace or in the immediate vicinity of complex missions such as fire suppression, disaster recovery, infrastructure monitoring. At the heart of the AirSense system is a built-in receiver that allows you to receive real-time alerts from nearby aircraft about their current location via ADS‑B signals *. All received data is reflected on the built-in display of the control equipment through the DJI Pilot mobile application.
*ADS‑B (Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) or ADS‑B (automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast) is a technology that allows both cockpit pilots and air traffic controllers to observe aircraft movements with greater accuracy than previously available and receive aeronautical data.
APAS
APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance System) is the result of DJI’s extensive research to calculate the optimal flight path. The APAS pilot assistance system automatically adjusts the trajectory of flying around obstacles encountered in the path of the drone, thereby ensuring ease of use of the UAV and maximum safety. APAS creates a route in real time, which allows the drone to plan in advance possible flight paths.
Password protection
The “Password protection” function allows you to exclude unauthorized access to the drone and the built-in storage, the capacity of which is 24GB. When the function is enabled, password authentication will be performed every time the aircraft is activated, the control equipment is paired with the aircraft, and when the built-in storage data is accessed via a PC. All data remains protected even if the drone is physically damaged.
In addition, M2EA users with high data security requirements can take advantage of DJI’s Local Data Mode. Activating the mode stops any communication between the paired mobile device and the Internet, thus providing additional security guarantees for operators involved in critical infrastructure, government projects, or other more complex tasks.
GPS timestamping
GPS timestamping is a function that fixes the time, date and location of each recorded image (GPS coordinates), thereby guaranteeing the independent reliability of the received data, which can later be used in legal proceedings.
Discreet mode
“Invisible” mode, which turns off all the on-board illumination of the drone for the implementation of missions that require unnoticed movement, especially at night.
DJI Pilot
A time-tested mobile application developed specifically for corporate users, which allows you to maximize the potential of the commercial version of the drone laid down by the manufacturer. Preset by default in DJI Smart Controller software.
Mobile SDK
With a wide range of third-party mobile applications, corporate users can unleash the full potential of the drone and thus find solutions for specific tasks. The Mobile SDK enables personalized mobile app development for the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced.
Price and availability
The new DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced is currently available for pre-order. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2021. Price: $6240. To purchase, please contact your local DJI Enterprise partners.
