5 features coming soon
The DJI Mavic 3 is the most complete evolution of the world’s most popular consumer drone series in three years. DJI has redesigned this drone from propeller to propeller to bring you a better sensor, dual camera system, omnidirectional obstacle detection and longer flight time. However, if you buy this drone now, you will not be able to fully use it, as several key features will enter this aircraft only in January 2022. And it is about them that we will discuss further.
Lagging Mavic 3 Features
Active Track 5.0
DJI stated that it has significantly improved the quality of subject tracking with the updated ActiveTrack 5.0 technology. Previous versions of ActiveTrack allowed Mavic drones to track an object, in front of it or behind it, and to fly to the side of a moving object in precise positions.
ActiveTrack 5.0 allows the Mavic 3 to move with a subject by moving forward, backward, left, right, and diagonally, as well as flying near or around a moving subject. In addition, if an object is moving too fast and temporarily disappears from the frame, the drone will not stop as it did before, but will continue to search for the object in flight. This feature will also be available in Normal mode, but not until January 2022.
QuickShot
Business card of all consumer versions of DJI drones. This feature allows your Mavic 3 to automatically fly and record pro-level Hollywood-style videos. Traditionally, DJI offers six QuickShot modes: Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang and Asteroid. Choose one of them, specify the subject to shoot, and your drone will perform complex pre-set movements with parallel video recording, which will allow you to get impressive results, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced pilot.

Master Shots
MasterShots — This is the next evolution of QuickShots, which is an advanced intelligent function, which, unlike QS, allows you to shoot in automatic mode not one of the six possible flight and shooting scenarios, but ten different scenarios at once, keeping the object for shooting in the center of the frame, and at the end of the function, a short cinematic video will be created, perfect for sharing on social networks!
With the arrival of the AIR 2S drone, the MasterShots feature includes three themed presets, but it is possible that this list will be expanded for the flagship model:
Portrait
Proximity
Landscape
Panorama Mode
In this mode, Mavic 3 allows you to stitch and process individual photos directly from the aircraft, without the DJI Fly app or any post-processing. This means you can capture breathtaking landscapes with wide coverage and rich detail.
QuickTransfer
With QuickTransfer, you can save and process content on your mobile devices without being tied to a remote control. Mavic 3 will be able to transfer content from the drone to your mobile device faster thanks to the Wi-Fi 6 protocol, which will support download speeds up to 80 Mbps. In addition, Mavic 3 will automatically select the fastest data transfer mode based on the wireless environment without having to manually switch to Wi-Fi mode.
Firmware update in January 2022
DJI says it will do whatever it takes to update the drone to its stated functionality as soon as possible in the coming weeks. At the moment, this deadline is set to January 2022. If anything changes, we will let you know.
