Motors
The JJRC H8D quadcopter is equipped with collector-type motors, the torque is transmitted through the gear. There is plenty of potential, it pulls most of the existing action cameras without any problems. The disadvantages include an extremely small resource – about 30 sorties. This should be taken into account when buying and immediately buy spare motors.
Camera
The JJRC H8D quadcopter is equipped with a 2MP video camera with a built-in VTX operating at an analog frequency of 5.8GHz. Unlike Wi-Fi video modules, it provides video stream transmission without delay, thus ensuring a safe first-person flight. The picture quality is below average.
Food
Comes with JJRC H8D two-cell rechargeable battery (7.4V) with a capacity of 500mAh. Provides an average flight time of no more than 6 minutes (with the declared 8 minutes), which is generally the norm for this niche of amateur UAVs.
Remote Control
The JJRC H8D quadcopter comes with classic 2.4GHz hardware. To implement the flight in FPV mode, it is equipped with a 4’3 LCD monitor with a built-in video receiver operating in the 5.8 GHz frequency range. The monitor is powered by a built-in battery charged by the included USB cable. In practice, the tandem provides a removal distance of no more than 100 meters.
Image quality is below average. In sunny weather, it glares, which complicates the process of FPV piloting. Display settings are missing.
Piloting in FPV mode at a distance of more than 50 meters is considered unsafe for this category of UAV!
Governing bodies
flight qualities
The JJRC H8D performed well in flight. The “Return to Home” mode works correctly, but with the direct participation of the pilot. In the test, he showed good performance of flips. Note that this drone has a good vertical thrust, which in turn allows you to equip a quad camera with better shooting quality compared to the one that comes with the kit.
When the signal is lost, the JJRC H8D quadcopter falls! It is worth considering this when piloting.
Conclusion
JJRC H8D $89.99

pros
- Design
- flight qualities
- Vertical link allows the quad to be retrofitted with Mobius MINI or Firefly Q6 cameras
- FPV kit
- Ready to fly out of the box
Minuses
- Price
- Motors (resource about 30 full sorties)
- The flight range was less than declared (maximum up to 100 meters)
- In the sun, information from the transmitter display is hard to read (even with a visor present)
JJRC H8D has established itself as one of the best quadcopters in its class. Great for beginners as a first drone. When retrofitting with a better camera, it will significantly extend the time for receiving positive emotions.
