Shooting techniques
The OSMO Pocket is incredibly small and light, yet capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps and featuring 3-axis stabilization. This little shooting tool gives you control over the camera, gimbal and other settings right from your smartphone.
We will give you tips from installing the stabilizer to shooting techniques.
Installing OSMO Pocket
Hollywood footage is good accuracy, control and smoothness. The Osmo Pocket monopod is an essential accessory for creating creative shots. Retractable phone holder and mount, controls give you full control when shooting.
Technique #1: Shooting from a Crane
For practice, use some interesting structure in your house, such as a ladder to create dynamic shots using a “crane”. Start at the top with the camera facing down. Move the OSMO Pocket down while pushing the camera up with the stick to create an amazing shot.
Technique #2: Flying Over Objects
By tilting the camera down, you can fly over objects, creating another interesting shot. This technique can be used to create the effect of a “flying bird” taking off from a balcony.
Many of the shots that can be captured with OSMO Pocket are not really captured with a regular camera. Create unique fly-by shots within an object by combining this with camera rotation.
Technique #3: Atlanta Transition
This transition between frames creates a very stylish look and adds more dynamics to your video.
First you need to lock the camera in FPV mode and find suitable places where you can start and end the frame at the right points. Using semi-circular motions, take several shots in different places, while maintaining the same speed of movement in each frame.
