The agreement is a first-of-its-kind software solution that will help expand drone use cases to provide Communications Service Providers (CPS) with broad and in-depth knowledge of their wireless network in order to use them more efficiently, the agreement says.
The parties intend to work with determination on a prototype that integrates QualiPoc’s mobile network measurement and troubleshooting capabilities using Rohde & Schwarz’s QualiPoc software embedded directly into a Nokia drone connected to MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) via Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) .
It is now possible to access this information using a QualiPoc Android smartphone connected to the drone as a payload. Nokia and Rohde & Schwarz said that with an embedded software solution, they are aiming to reduce the weight of the drone for these activities, resulting in lower power consumption and longer flight times for more efficient and sustainable operations.
