JJRC H31 quadcopter review

The presented quadcopter is currently one of the latest models of a well-known Chinese brand that has been specializing in radio-controlled toys for many years. JJRC H31 occupies a niche of amateur drones (although on the official website of JJRC this model is in the category “Professional R / C Aircraft”). Children or teenagers from 8-14 years old will fully appreciate the capabilities of a quadrocopter, and it will also suit adult beginners for the first time to get acquainted with the UAV, in order to subsequently turn their eyes to something more expensive, and, accordingly, more interesting in this area of hobbies .

The JJRC H31 quadcopter occupies the niche of budget UAVs, which as a result predetermines both its main capabilities and its features.

The JJRC H31 quadcopter is equipped with gear-driven commutator motors, the potential of which is fully sufficient for aerial flights of the drone.

In flight, the drone showed both good controllability and speed, especially in the “Expert” mode, and this is not surprising. the drone is very light, less than 100g, and the motors, as mentioned above, have a power reserve.

The JJRC H31 has three Low/Medium/Expert activity modes, which are distinguishable from each other, which in turn allow the beginner to gradually go through the learning process from simple to more complex.

The CF mode (CF mode) will also come to the aid of the beginner, which disables the drone’s orientation in space and the pilot for the first time of training will be able to focus exclusively on controlling the quad without binding front / rear. But in the future it will become important. PRO-level drones rely on cardinal directions and it is important for them which way the nose (front) of the drone is directed.

The quad performs flips, rolls flawlessly, despite the simplicity of the design, the JJRC H31 turned out to be very durable, not a single drop in the tests caused any visible damage to the quad. The flight time on a fully charged battery was no more than 10 minutes.

Camera

The manufacturer offers a choice of 2 cameras 0.3MP and 5MP., with moderate image quality. Cameras are connected via a 3-pin connector. It is worth noting the fact that the internal elements of the camera, both one and the second, unlike the drone, are not protected from water and, if the camera comes into contact with water, will lead to a short circuit of the drone itself, so the camera should be removed at any mention of water at the time of flights.

Well-known Internet trading platforms currently offer a wide range of video cameras adapted for drones, they are more expensive, but for that we get good both photo and video material at the output.

Battery

When the JJRC H31 became available for purchase, it initially came with a 3.7V 350mAh LiPo battery, but now the quad comes with a 3.7V 400mAh LiPo battery. It is charged from USB, the time of a full charge cycle is about 30 minutes.

It is worth remembering that when the connection is lost, the JJRC H31 falls!

Remote Control

Classic 4-channel remote control JJRC operating at a frequency of 2.4GHz. According to the specification from the manufacturer, the drone removal distance with such a remote control is about 200 meters, in fact it was about 80 meters. Power is supplied by four 1.5V AA batteries.
