Introduction
Nothing pisses off a drone pilot faster than bad weather and drone error codes. And, if bad weather can simply be waited out, then error codes can be something more than just waiting for a problem or hoping that it will resolve itself. Being unable to fly due to errors can be a nuisance, but when these codes are deciphered, explained, and suggestions for fixing them come to the fore, everything becomes more optimistic and simpler. In this article, we will look at possible DJI Mini 2 error codes, their meaning, and steps to resolve them. For the convenience of finding the code you need, we have arranged all the codes in the content in numerical order.
DJI Mini 2 Error Codes and Solutions
In the process of reviewing the presented list of error codes, you will notice that most of these codes lead the owner to contact DJI support, and no matter how trite it may sound, but this is the only way to solve the problem.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 10001

DJI Mini 2: Error Code 10022
Description
No SD card. Insert an SD card.
Possible Solutions
This is a simple mistake. All you have to do is insert an SD card. The required SD card must meet the following requirements: UHS-I Speed Class 3 or higher. You can read about which SD card is best for your drone here.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 10023
Description
SD card failure. Replace card.
Possible Solutions
The quickest way to fix this error is to simply remove the SD card, wait a minute, and put it back in again. If this does not help, change the card to another one. Since SD cards are very fragile and finicky devices, it does not hurt to have several cards on hand at once, which will eliminate these types of problems.
DJI Mini 2: Error code 30007 and 30008
Description
No GPS signal. Unable to hold position. Fly carefully.
Possible Solutions
In this case, the best course of action would be to return the drone to the takeoff site, land it, and repair it. To solve this problem, you will need to repair or most likely replace the GPS module. Here I would like to immediately recall the developer’s requirement to always keep the drone within the line of sight (VLOS), since with a broken GPS module, it not only loses the ability to maintain its position in automatic mode, but can also be poorly displayed on the map.

DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30050
Description
IMU calibration required. Calibrate the IMU.
Possible Solutions
You may be prompted to calibrate the IMU. This usually happens after a hard landing / crash of the drone, incorrect flight, and many other reasons not listed in error code 30050.
Note:
If the aircraft system displays error code 30050, in most if not all cases, when the aircraft restarts, a dialog box will appear prompting you to automatically calibrate the EMU module, in this case it is worth agreeing to the prompts and calibrating.
You can manually calibrate the IMU by following these steps:
- Log into the DJI Fly app.
- Find 3 dots in the upper right corner and tap on them to enter the system menu.
- Scroll down to the Sensors section.
- Select and tap on the IMU icon.

Follow the same steps as for error code 30050 (see code above).
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30060
Description
Compass error. Make sure there are no metal or magnetic structures/objects near the drone and calibrate it before use.
Possible Solutions
This error usually occurs if you are flying your drone at home, in close proximity to a manhole cover, park bench, garage, or other metal structures/objects. If you receive this message, try moving the Mini 2 to another location nearby where there is no metal. If the error persists, the camera gimbal may need to be repaired or replaced.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30064
Description
Impossible to fly.
Possible Solutions
First of all, make sure that the Mini 2 is not obstructed in order to take off and that you are not in a restricted flight zone (in the No Fly geofence; for example, in airport airspace).
If everything is in order, then just restart the Mini 2 and the Remote Control. If the error persists, check for a firmware update (see below for how to do this), and if this also does not fix the problem, then the aircraft will most likely need to be repaired. Often, this problem requires repair or replacement of the ESC module.
To check for new firmware, follow these steps:
- Log into the DJI Fly app.
- Find 3 dots in the upper right corner and tap on them.
- Go to the ABOUT tab.
- On the left you will see Aircraft Firmware.
- To the right of it will be the option “Check for Update”.
- Tap on it and follow the prompts of the drone system.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30085

DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30168
Description
The power of the drone is not enough. Fly carefully.
Possible Solutions
If there is excessively strong wind in the area of your flight than usual, this will appear repeatedly. If it’s a quiet day with no gusts of wind, this error could indicate something more problematic. For example, this message may be due to the fact that the battery is nearing the end of its life, and it may also indicate a faulty ESC.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 30210
Description
Power system equipment. Restart your drone.
Possible Solutions
To fix this error, try restarting the aircraft and remote controller. If that doesn’t work, then the next suggested step would be to check and install updated firmware (for drone, battery, and remote). The developer recommends doing this where there is an internet connection.

DJI Mini 2: Error Code 40002
Description
The suspension is jammed. Check if the gimbal shipping cover is removed and can rotate freely.
Possible Solutions
This error usually occurs if the gimbal’s shipping case is not removed before flying the aircraft. The thing is that when we launch the drone, the drone system starts the self-calibration of the gimbal, which implies its movement in various directions. Accordingly, if you do not remove the cover, it will interfere with this process. On earlier DJI models (particularly the Mavic Pro), there was no such system warning, which often ended up causing the gimbal motors to burn out and costly repairs.
However, even with the system notification, such repeated gimbal blocking can lead to a similar burnout of the actuators, which subsequently renders the drone useless. Therefore, the best solution in this case is to develop the habit of removing the transport cover before each flight.
DJI Mini 2: Error Code 40011
Description
Gimbal calibration error. Restart your drone.
Possible Solutions
Although restarting the drone may be your first impulse, the correct way to fix this error is to calibrate the gimbal. If gimbal calibration didn’t work and you’re still getting the error, try restarting the drone. If this does not help, you will need to replace the suspension.
Follow these steps to calibrate the gimbal:
- Make sure your drone is on a level surface.
- Log into the DJI Fly app.
- Find 3 dots in the upper right corner and tap on them to enter the system menu.
- Tap the camera icon on the left side of the screen. This will take you to Gimbal Settings.
