What’s new?

OcuSync

Unlike its predecessors broadcasting video stream via Lightbridge 2, Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 inherited a more technologically advanced video relay system – OcuSync. Why is she better? In practice, compared to Lightbridge 2, OcuSync provides a more stable and high-quality video connection (1080p/30fps instead of 720p/30fps) with lower latency and less noise, and also allows you to pair the aircraft with wireless devices such as DJI Goggles (RE) and fully enjoy all the advanced features.

Later, the developer programmatically increased the power potential of the system, after which the distance for the Phantom 4 Pro/Pro+/ V2.0 version became 10/6 km (FCC/CE).

Control equipment

Visually, both the top-end and standard P4Pro v2.0 hardware are no different from the stock P4Pro hardware, but with the advent of OcuSync, their interchangeability has been completely eliminated.

Power point

DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0: another improved drone

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 features new FOC ESC (Field Oriented Control) sinusoidal speed controllers and new rotors (Model 9455S) shaped like the quiet MP Platinum propellers. According to the developer, this made it possible to reduce the noise level to 4dB. Note that the stock P4Pro rotors and the modified P4Pro v2.0 are interchangeable.

The weight

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 has lost 13 grams and now weighs 1375 grams (against 1388 grams for the P4Pro).

Anything else?

The rest of the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 specifications remain unchanged:

  • Visual positioning in 5 directions
  • 20MP 4K camera built on 1-inch (2.5cm) CMOS sensor
  • 3-axis mechanical gimbal

pros

  • Quality
  • Design
  • Modified low-noise power plant
  • Flight characteristics
  • Autonomous qualities
  • OcuSync video transmission system
  • Camera/Mech. Shutter/Gimbal (Best in niche image quality)
  • Removal distance up to 7km

Minuses

  • Side obstacle detection sensors are not active for all flight modes
  • Bulky luggage in transit

Of course, P4Pro V2.0 has become better, in our opinion, the most significant improvement of the second version is the advanced video relay system – OcuSync. The expected camera with interchangeable lenses obviously belongs to another novelty, and we hope that this is not the Phantom 5, for the simple reason that the photos published earlier, in fact, capture the same fourth series only with a more advanced camera. We think many will be disappointed if the fifth-generation DJI drone, about which so much has already been written, appears in the old guise. Otherwise, the second version of the drone is still the same P4Pro (Obsidian) designed to stir up the interest of a potential consumer in the entry-level professional unmanned niche.
