To control Mavic 2 series drones without using a mobile device.
On January 8, 2019 at CES 2019, DJI, a leading manufacturer of civilian drones and cameras, took another step towards introducing drone technology into people’s daily lives with the introduction of the DJI Smart Controller.
The new DJI Smart Controller features an ultra-bright 5.5-inch display and an optimized DJI drone control system that eliminates the need for a smartphone or tablet for pilots. CES 2019 showcases a full line of hobby drones and handheld cameras, including the new stabilized Osmo Pocket camera. DJI will also host a series of workshops and hands-on sessions on how to use the devices.
Advanced features for pilots
The Smart Controller helps grow DJI’s leading drone technology accessories ecosystem. The built-in 5.5-inch display allows you to control the drone without connecting to a mobile device. The controller can be used with DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic 2 Pro drones that support Full HD OcuSync 2.0 video transmission technology.
The compact design is optimized specifically for use in direct sunlight, which is very convenient for pilots. The 1000 cd/m2 display is twice as bright as standard mobile devices. The customizable Android operating system is compatible with DJI GO 4, DJI Pilot, and third-party applications such as editing software.
The DJI GO 4 app supports SkyTalk, which allows you to live stream camera video to social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, and more to share the incredible flying experience with others.
Another new feature is Go Share, which is used to transfer data from the remote control to a mobile device.
The Smart Controller takes flight reliability to a new level. Its battery works for 2.5 hours at temperatures from -20°C to +40°C.
