CPU

Apple iPhone SE 3 received a new, powerful, modern A15 Bionic chip. By comparison, the iPhone SE 2 has an earlier version — A13 Bionic.

The same version of the chip (A15) is used in the iPhone 13, the company’s most advanced smartphone. True, the performance in the budget model is slightly curtailed. This is done in order to increase the autonomy of the device.

Why is the chip so important? It is responsible for the performance of the device. Now phone:

  • performs even more operations at the same time;
  • launches more modern games (and after all, a lot of new products and updates have been released in 2 years).

The new smartphone handles graphics 20% faster and better than its predecessor (with the A13 Bionic processor). This means that video content and games will not slow down. Also now shooting video in 4K has become smoother. And the processor and the case itself begin to heat up only after 15–25 minutes of active games.

Battery

Traditionally, Apple does not seek to advertise the capacity of its batteries, and does not disclose the figure in mAh. Why? It’s easy to explain. The number doesn’t always matter. Much more important is energy efficiency.

For example, in our article on the best gaming smartphones, we compared the iPhone 13 with other brands. The smartphone from Apple has a battery with a lower capacity (3208 mAh versus 4000+ mAh). But even with such a capacity, it can work for 8 hours on a single charge with active use.

The smaller number of mAh is compensated by the high adaptability of games and applications for the iPhone, the energy efficiency of the A15 Bionic processor.

This also applies to the budget model. According to reviewers, its capacity does not exceed 2018 mAh. But due to its high energy efficiency, a smartphone can work longer than similar devices with the same battery.

The iPhone SE 3 2022 has a more powerful battery than its 2nd generation counterpart. Now the smartphone works 2 hours longer with active use (15 hours versus 13).

You can charge the iPhone SE battery in the usual way (via a cord) or via the Qi wireless standard. There is a fast charging function, thanks to which the smartphone restores half the charge in half an hour.

Camera

Smartphone Apple iPhone SE 2nd generation is appreciated by users for a good camera. The main characteristics in the budget iPhone 2022 have not changed: 12 MP (f / 1.8, 28 mm, 1.4 microns, optical stabilization) + 4K video recording at 60 FPS.

But has anything gotten better? Yes. The quality of pictures and videos has become higher thanks to the introduction of new technologies and artificial intelligence.

deep fusion is a new feature available in iPhone 13 and SE 2022 budget version. When the function is enabled, the camera takes not one, but 8 shots. Each of them has a different exposure value. The A15 Bionic processor analyzes the shots and selects the 2 clearest and most successful ones. Next, artificial intelligence combines two images and forms one from them. It is as detailed as possible, bright, with rich colors.

Both front and rear cameras are now available:

- optical stabilization — reduces video shaking, even if it is filmed on the go;

- photographic styles. This is a ready-made preset that can be selected in advance and will automatically be applied to all pictures taken in normal mode;

- Smart HDR feature. With it, you can take bright photos even in difficult lighting conditions. For example, you can take a picture against the sun. In this case, the image will not be overexposed.

There is another cool feature that went to the budget iPhone SE (iOS) from top models. This is the ability to record in “slow mo” (slow motion) in FullHD at 120 frames per second.

Appearance

The second and third generation smartphones are identical in size and appearance. For the manufacturer, this is a significant savings on components. But users have long been asking Apple to release a budget version with a larger screen.

The body of the phone is made of aluminum. It is protected by glass on both sides. The corners are neat and rounded. The fingerprint sensor is located at the bottom.

The design is also unchanged. The colors are identical to the 2nd generation: black, red, white. If you want other colors, you can buy a case. There are options for every taste.

Display

The screen in the iPhone SE 3 remained unchanged. This is Retina HD with a diagonal of 4.7. The iPhone SE display is bright, compact, and supports multi-touch technology. This is recognition of multiple simultaneous taps on the screen.

Screen resolution 1334x750. It’s not a lot, but it’s enough to have a bright and clear picture on such a small screen.

There is a built-in True Tone function. This is an option that adjusts the brightness and contrast of the screen according to the ambient light.

Water and dust protection

As in the case of the 2nd generation of 2020, the smartphone has an IP67 standard. This means that the smartphone is not afraid of moisture. It can be kept no deeper than 1 m under water for 30 minutes. Also, the case is completely protected from dust ingress.

Additional features

There are 2 more differences between the iPhone SE 2022 and the 2020 model:

  • RAM is no longer 3 GB, but 4. This increases the performance of the device. Now the smartphone opens and closes applications faster, it is easier to work in multitasking mode;
  • added 5G module. This means that the iPhone will be able to connect to 5th generation networks. What difference will the user notice? For example, the picture in FaceTime will be in HD quality not only when connected to WiFi, but also when connected to the mobile Internet. Of course, if it is possible to connect to 5G (in Russia, for example, it is not yet available).

Apple iPhone SE 4th generation — what to expect from new items

What has everyone been waiting for from SE for a long time? That’s right, screen magnification! And in the updated version of the 4th generation, this can happen! Line fans were encouraged by analyst Ross Young.

Can he be trusted? Young’s predictions about Apple products often come true, so many people trust his opinion.

The company plans to introduce a new model in 2024. There is no information about the technical characteristics, processor or camera of the novelty yet. It is only known that the iPhone SE 4 will have the best “stuffing” among all budget models of the brand. As soon as new information about this model appears, you can find it out from our blog.
