We Collect the Tank. Review of the Designer FW-4034, or What to Give a Boy for the New Year, Part 2

Look­ing for a Christ­mas gift for a boy? Here is a two-in-one that pleas­es any child: a tank and the abil­i­ty to assem­ble it your­self (or with dad / grand­fa­ther). The lat­ter will take you away from the phone for sev­er­al hours and show that you can play not only on the screen. Packaging and appearance

At this price, don’t expect a gift box. You get the usu­al stuffed bag, inside which are 4 bags of parts, man­u­al and stick­ers. For an inex­pe­ri­enced assem­bler, this sep­a­ra­tion will great­ly facil­i­tate the search for the right parts. By the way, there are only 904 of them here, which is not very much. That is, it’s not that there weren’t enough of them, but it’s not 2–3 thou­sand, you can han­dle it.

The instruc­tions are good, every­thing is clear

Well, here is the tank itself. Usu­al­ly I show dif­fer­ent stages of the assem­bly in more detail, but there is noth­ing spe­cial to show here. So I will only men­tion the main ones. The set includes a set of four fig­urines. In gen­er­al, the log­ic is strange. What side was the woman here? Guys in berets are fine for some kind of set with a land­ing par­ty (well, like this com­bat heli­copter), but in a tank you need head­sets, not berets. Be that as it may, it will only jar the stub­born for­mal­ist.

For an ordi­nary kid, get­ting 4 dif­fer­ent fig­ures is rather a plus — a para­troop­er (and even with a hol­ster) will para­chute, a woman can be giv­en a nurse’s ban­dage. Well, ostavish­esya will also be in busi­ness.

I am not a fan of this type of tracks, I would pre­fer a wider one. But for the game there is no dif­fer­ence, it’s noth­ing more than a mat­ter of taste. And any­way, it’s not for me to play.

The rollers, as you can see, are not just installed on the side, there are even tor­sion bars. For the game­play, this, again, does not change any­thing, but, undoubt­ed­ly, in the plus of real­ism!

General impressions

An excel­lent set for the price. I took it with­out a dis­count at the end of the sum­mer and I con­sid­er these $ 20 to be quite an ade­quate price.

The tank looks real­is­tic. He has a fair amount of pleas­ing to the eye and for the game parts of the body kit. All sorts of fuel tanks, rock­ets, anten­nas, dynam­ic armor. The tow­er is spin­ning, the cater­pil­lars are spin­ning, the gun goes up and down.

There were no miss­ing parts, cast­ing is good. Plas­tic to the touch is not cheap, does not stink (well, I gen­er­al­ly very rarely seen). Nor­mal Detailed Instruc­tion

The tank turned out to be light and inter­est­ing to assem­ble. My involve­ment was not required. How­ev­er, some dif­fi­cul­ties may arise only for a com­plete­ly unpre­pared col­lec­tor of 6–7 years that way. The rest, thanks to the divi­sion of parts into 4 pack­ages and a visu­al step-by-step guide, will be able to assem­ble them­selves.

I think that this design­er will be an inter­est­ing and delight­ful gift for a child of 6–12 years old. And on NG, and at any oth­er sep­a­rate moment. The price tag allows you to buy it just in reserve in case of a trip to vis­it, or some oth­er rea­son to give.

Sep­a­rate­ly, I will empha­size the point to which I always pay atten­tion. Assem­bling the con­struc­tor is an extreme­ly use­ful activ­i­ty for the devel­op­ment of the child. It devel­ops fine motor skills and mind­ful­ness. And when the design­er is, after some time, torn apart into details, then com­bi­na­tion­al think­ing.

With a high prob­a­bil­i­ty, dad or grand­fa­ther will also be inter­est­ed in sit­ting with his son and help­ing with the assem­bly.

In gen­er­al, I rec­om­mend. Suit­able con­struc­tor. The only down­side is the lack of gift wrap­ping. But who cares about her, the child will imme­di­ate­ly climb to see what’s inside.
