DJI RS 3: ready when you’re ready
Every second counts
DJI RS 3 includes a number of new features to get filmmakers up and running as quickly as possible. The upgraded axle locking system means that the process is now automated. By simply turning on the hanger, the automatic axle blocks the release and unfolding of the hanger, allowing the operator to get started in seconds. A single press of the power button puts the device into sleep mode, which makes it much faster to turn on the device, assemble it, and move it. There is also no need for re-balancing. Quick-release plates, position memory function – all this ensures a quick installation with a perfect payload balance. In addition, the addition of a Bluetooth shutter button supports automatic connection without the need to connect a camera control cable.
Light body, heavy stabilization
Weighing in at just under 1.3kg (2.8lbs), the RS 3 can be easily held in one hand, and the tested load capacity of just under 3kg (6.6lbs) is more than enough to support most major devices.
Thanks to the 3rd generation RS stabilization algorithm, you can see a 20% improvement in performance compared to RSC 2, making it easier to work when shooting at low angles, on the run, or even when shooting from a moving car. For lenses up to 100mm, SuperSmooth further enhances stabilization.
One Touch Settings
In addition to improved stability, the RS 3 is also easier to set up with an all-new 1.8″ full color OLED touchscreen that has an 80% larger surface area than the previous RSC 2. Most gimbal settings can be done directly without connecting to a mobile app , and the user interface and interface logic have been redesigned so that all control rights are at your fingertips. This includes a physical gimbal mode switch that operators can move to instantly switch between pan, tilt and FPV modes.
All day battery
With an all-new battery grip providing up to 12 hours of battery life, users can focus on the action without worrying about power. The RS 3 features a quick release design and supports 18W PD fast charging. The battery can be charged independently or even during use, allowing users to work non-stop.
DJI RS 3 Pro: Nothing is out of reach
For those who demand even more
For more demanding users, RS 3 Pro is an even more professional version, offering a full range of features as a versatile camera platform.
Made from a single, uncut piece of carbon fiber, like the Ronin 2, the arms make the RS 3 Pro lighter and stronger than the carbon fiber composite used in previous gimbals. They have also been extended to provide more room to balance commonly used professional cameras such as the Sony FX6, Canon C70 and RED Komodo, and the structure has been optimized to keep its weight at 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) with impressive 4.5 kg. (10 pounds) proven payload. Naturally, the gimbal also uses auto-axis lock, a Bluetooth shutter button, a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen, and an RS 3 gimbal mode switch.
Manual lenses, no problem
Manual lenses can create focusing problems for solo photographers involved in professional projects. The RS 3 Pro uses Ronin 4D’s advanced LiDAR focusing technology to create a new DJI LiDAR Rangefinder (RS) capable of projecting 43,200 range points within a 14m indoor area. The next generation focus motor delivers three times the torque in a one-step setup, allowing autofocus on manual lenses without the need for recalibration. In addition, the LiDAR is equipped with a DJI-designed chip identical to that used in the Ronin 4D and a built-in 30mm camera, increasing ActiveTrack’s processing power by more than 60 times, creating ActiveTrack Pro. With target identification and tracking more sensitive and accurate than ever before, the RS 3 Pro will enable professional cameras to capture a steady and sharp shot in even more dynamic scenarios.
Developing ecosystem
With its dual RSA/NATO port and battery port, the RS 3 Pro can connect to a variety of accessories such as the new briefcase handle, dual Twist Grip and tethered grip, opening up multiple shooting possibilities.
The DJI RS SDK protocol allows third parties and individual developers to create customized shooting solutions for the RS 3 Pro to create an even richer ecosystem with more developers. Whether you’re shooting from a moving vehicle, with a boom or steadicam, with a cable camera or a slider, the RS 3 Pro offers complete shooting solutions and more creative options.
DJI Powertrain: Vision Beyond Boundaries
Cover the Distance with DJI Transmission
DJI Transmission is DJI’s first independent wireless video communication solution. Based on the advanced Ronin 4D video transmission technology, this system combines reception, monitoring, control and recording to take your filming experience to a whole new level.
O3 Pro’s transmission technology enables the transmission system to provide an incredible 20,000-foot ground transmission range with ultra-low end-to-end latency, a significant upgrade over traditional Wi-Fi transmission. Video is streamed at 1080p/60fps and provides live audio monitoring at 16bit 48kHz, offering teams excellent visual and audio remote monitoring.
To cope with the demands of complex signaling and structural environments, the DFS band has been added to the traditional 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz settings, offering up to 23 channel options that provide teams with more compatible and interference-free transmission channels. The built-in sweeper automatically scans the current electromagnetic environment for the best wireless channel, instantly switching channels as needed. If necessary, users can also manually select the appropriate channel to avoid interference between devices.
Wireless monitoring
The DJI 7″ High Brightness Remote Monitor with 1500 nits includes a built-in receiver, eliminating the need for video cables to the monitor. The device supports one transmitter with multiple receivers, as well as two transmission modes to meet different transmission needs. In control mode, monitoring can be carried out from two receivers at the same time, while the gimbal and camera can also be controlled remotely. For a large team with different departments such as lighting, art department and props, Broadcast Mode can also be enabled on top of Control Mode, allowing for an unlimited number of receivers and taking shooting efficiency to the next level.
On large sets like reality shows, DJI Transmission can work simultaneously with ten or more transmitters sending signals to transmit to ten devices, creating a completely synchronized experience that is hard to achieve with traditional transmission.
Everything’s under control
DJI Transmission is not just a powerful video transfer tool; it is also a comprehensive control system. When used with the RS 3 Pro, it can work as a gimbal and camera controller, unlocking more features and fully integrating the Ronin ground ecosystem.
The high brightness remote monitor has a built-in gyro sensor that acts as a standalone motion controller for the RS 3 Pro. And when combined with the Ronin 4D grips, the RS 3 Pro gimbal operator can control the gimbal, focus, exposure, and start/stop recording with both hands.
In addition to simultaneous access to temporary videos, the high-brightness remote monitor allows 1080p/60fps H.264 footage to be independently recorded and played back, making it easy to edit sample footage on set.
An extension of the Ronin ecosystem, DJI Transmission works seamlessly with the DJI Master Wheel and Force Pro, giving operators a variety of ways to control camera movement to suit the demands of the frame.
