Good day. Today we will look at another almost new product — the Xiaomi Mitu Drone quadrocopter, which flew away and, for some reason, did not promise to return. Despite this, there was still enough time to make a full review of this drone.
The quadcopter has a quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz and 4 GB of internal memory for recording videos and photos using a 2 MP camera. The maximum photo resolution is 1600x1200 pixels. The maximum video resolution is 1280x720 pixels. In addition to the camera on the front of the drone, there is a laser sensor for air combat with another Xiaomi Mitu quadcopter.

At the bottom is an ultrasonic sensor that works on the principle of parking sensors in a car. It helps the drone to keep its position and avoid collisions and obstacles that will appear below it.

The drone comes in a small square light blue box. On the front is an image of the drone itself. On the sides of the box is the silhouette of a fighting hare, which is a symbol of Mitu.

On the back of the box are the main specifications, where you can find the dimensions of the drone, which are 91x91x38 millimeters. The weight of the device is 88 grams. The connection with the drone is via a 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection. The remote control is a smartphone with the MIdroneMini application installed on it.

The autonomous operation of the drone in 10 minutes is provided by a 920 mAh battery. Charging time is 60 minutes. The battery can be charged both through the drone itself via the microUSB connector, and using a separate charger, which is purchased separately along with two batteries.

The package includes the drone itself, several manuals in Chinese, six propellers (two of them are spare), propeller guards, a battery and a charging cable.

The propeller protection is made of soft plastic, which easily flexes against an obstacle and catches the propeller. Therefore, most of the collisions are accompanied by the fall of the drone, while on the propellers you will soon notice micro-chips.

The first flight of the drone was evaluated by a cat, and such a fly turned out to be too much for her. Almost immediately, I found a wall with a quadric, because touch sticks, especially without proper calibration, will not be clear to you at first.

Now a little about the application. It is as simple and intuitive as possible. Even a person who has never dealt with quadrocopters and English will cope. In the upper part there are buttons for takeoff from the surface, takeoff from the hand, combat drone mode, quadrocopter and smartphone calibration. Just below the auto flip button. Next is the Wi-Fi connection indicator, battery charge and settings. At the bottom are the photo and video buttons. The most difficult elements are control joysticks. The left one is responsible for taking off and lowering the drone, as well as its rotation around its axis. Depending on which direction the drone is turned, the direction of its flight will also depend. Before taking off, it is advisable to calibrate the drone, otherwise it may become uncontrollable for you.

The settings are also extremely simple. The first step is to view videos and photos taken from the drone. Then you can change the shooting resolution. Just below the name and password of the Wi-Fi network and change the firmware.

Next, the value of the maximum height of the drone changes. The maximum value reaches 25 meters. Good setting for indoor flying. Interestingly, you can set the value up to 0.1 meters.

A little lower you can change the sensitivity of the sticks, but by and large, this item changes the speed of the drone. You can compare different modes in the video review. Even lower, the location of these same sticks changes.

As a result, I want to say that the drone still flew away from me. Partly it was blown away by the wind through the window of the nearest house, partly I took it away. I even climbed onto the roof of the Khrushchev building, but the drone never found it. In this regard, I recommend that you figure out the direction of the drone’s flight already at the moment when the drone is in the air. Moreover, since the sticks are adaptive and appear in the part where you press the screen, it is necessary to look at the screen, namely which stick button you press. At high altitude with strong wind, as in my case, such a mistake can be fatal. That’s all. I hope this review has helped you and you will be more careful when flying a drone. Below, as usual, you can look at even more new products and devices from Xiaomi that you might not know about. Good luck and good mood to all. Bye.
