Elon Musk Announced Tesla Bot

For a long time we have not heard about the inno­va­tions of Elon Musk, but he does not sleep, invents and pro­duces the most incred­i­ble things, tak­ing us with his devel­op­ments to the very dis­tant future that we see in films.

Elon Musk announced the date when the first humanoid robot will be pro­duced, code­named “Opti­mus”. The release date is sched­uled for Sep­tem­ber 30, 2022. The pre­sen­ta­tion of the project was held back in August 21, and the event in hon­or of arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence, which was sup­posed to take place at the end of sum­mer, was post­poned to Sep­tem­ber 30 pre­cise­ly because the pro­duc­tion of the first Tes­la Bot mod­el is expect­ed by this date.

Accord­ing to the project, Opti­mus will be quite tall, his height will be 176 cm, and his weight will be about 57–58 kg. Tes­la Bot will work on the basis of the Tes­la Autopi­lot sys­tem, it will be equipped with all the nec­es­sary sen­sors and chips that will allow the robot to move inde­pen­dent­ly in space.

Opti­mus was con­ceived as an assis­tant for mod­ern man. Instead of a face, the Tes­la Bot will have a dis­play with all the nec­es­sary infor­ma­tion, the robot will have voice con­trol and can be asked to per­form a par­tic­u­lar task, for exam­ple: sub­mit some­thing or send it to the store for shop­ping. It is worth not­ing that the robot runs to the store quick­ly enough, because its move­ment speed is about 8 km / h. A robot with AI will be able to take on tasks that a per­son does not want to do on their own, it will save us from rou­tine or unpleas­ant, bor­ing things.

Of course, when we talk about an arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence robot, pic­tures from films imme­di­ate­ly pop up in our heads, where AI crossed all bound­aries and began to rule human­i­ty, it becomes a lit­tle scary if we are mov­ing towards this, whether this pro­to­type will be safe.

A lot was also said about secu­ri­ty at the Tes­la Bot pre­sen­ta­tion. Opti­mus will be lim­it­ed in his abil­i­ties, it will be easy to run away from him, and he will also be weak­er than a per­son, in sim­ple terms, he can be defeat­ed.

The main task of the robot is to help a per­son, the main qual­i­ty is friend­li­ness. This is how the man­u­fac­tur­er intend­ed it, and it seems that this is indeed a very bold and big step towards that very inno­v­a­tive future with fly­ing cars and assis­tant robots.
