High performance upgrade for AVATA
Manufacturer Axisflying is a guru in the world of FPV racing, in particular on a number of motors. Their latest solution is for DJI Innovations’ new Avata cinewhoop drone: C157 (KV 3650) brushless motors. The developer claims that they have more power than stock motors, which will provide better maneuverability and less “propwash” (i.e., jitter during dynamic turns).
Specification
Price and availability
The Axisflying C157 motor kit is already available for purchase. You will have to pay $80 for four motors (excluding shipping and taxes), which means that each motor is offered by the developer for $20.
Test Drive
Famous in the hobby and sports FPV pilot MurdersFPV was the first to try these motors on his AVATA. In his flight review, he notes such positive aspects as: distinctive flight stabilization, more pleasant response, more powerful thrust and a more pleasant sound. He attributed the reduction in flight time to the minuses, which is generally understandable and expected, but as the author noted, “it’s worth it.” He also noted that he had never encountered a “tumble”, stall / collapse of the drone when turning along the Yaw axis … (see video below).
Mounting
To install these motors, the user will have to disassemble the drone and solder them directly to the Avata 4-in-1 ESC. Therefore, this upgrade will be relevant for those who know how to handle a soldering iron. You will also have to think about the possible loss of warranty. Next, we recommend watching a step-by-step video tutorial for installing Axisflying C157 motors with explanations and recommendations from MurdersFPV.
