In the summer of 2014, Syma Toys introduced two models of quadcopters Syma X5 and Syma X5C to the market. The first competitive models of this company in the budget segment “Up to $100”. The difference between them is in the camera present. Syma X5 does not come with a camera, the X5C model comes with a camera with a resolution of 0.3MP. The model presented in the review is a direct competitor – JJRC-H8C.

Camera
The Syma X5C has a 0.3MP camera on board. The quality of shooting is below average, so it will be unnecessary to assign the functions of large-scale aerial photography to it. If you wish, you can replace the stock camera with more technologically advanced ones: Mobius MINI or Firefly Q6. The quality of shooting each deserves respect, at the output the user receives a photo / video material that can be pleasant to watch.
Battery
The quadcopter is equipped with a 1S 3.7V 500mAh LiPo lithium polymer battery. In the test, it showed the 6-7 minutes of flight declared in the specification (without a camera), with the camera the flight time is reduced to 5-6 minutes. Charging time is ≈ 100 minutes.
Control
The Syma X5C quadcopter is equipped with 4-channel control equipment operating at a frequency of 2.4GHz. In a zone free from interference, it provides a confident flight at a distance of no further than 50 meters. Power is supplied by 4 × 1.5V “AA” batteries (purchased separately).

Test Drive
Quadcopter Syma X5C in the test showed optimal dynamics and good handling. Flips work out effortlessly. To get the best possible dynamics, it is recommended to remove the camera and quad landing legs. Due to the light weight and low potential of the collector motors, it does not like the wind. In flight, even with a slight wind, a slight windage was observed. It can easily fly away in the direction of the wind, despite the presence of control, it is worth considering! The quadrocopter shows all its flight potential only in complete calm.
